Boat Cover Anyone have experience with a stock canvas (I guess), boat cover that fits well on a V-20 Cuddy? I'm looking for something to protect the boat from the sun in the summer and maybe from the rain in the winter when it's parked in the driveway. I'm not sure if a cover can do both, but I'm hoping to find something from Cabela's or something. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Boat Cover Cliff, Ive never had exactly what you describe, but at one time I kept a tarp over the entire boat, supported in the center by a single 2 x 4...bracket on one end to hook over windshield and sharp angle cut on other end to rest on motor (padded)...this worked really good once it was in place, but genuine PIA to cover/uncover...I cut down some trees and made an open area to store the boat...trees are the biggest problem, at least in my case... ;) :D... |

Re: Boat Cover My buddy has a Taylor, it is mildew res. and breathable!! Its a great cover!! He uses it here all summer round, and in the winter and it is now 4 years old. I just use green tarps, winter only. http://www.taylormadeproducts.com/ |

Re: Boat Cover Just had this one made for $400 and it works great. I chose the heavier material (kind of like canvas) than sunbrella after I looked at a similar one that was 7 years old and was still in great shape. It is also very easy to put on and take off. Hope this helps. Tracy http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...8/DSC00269.jpg |

Re: Boat Cover I do have a pole, it is just not installed at this time. The cover is snug enough the rain just runs off. When winter comes I will have it installed. Tracy |

Re: Boat Cover For what it's worth, I needed two poles on mine. I have one in the middle with a hole stitched in the cover for it and I bought a second one at Overtons to prevent the constant pooling I got near the stern on my bracket boat. Works great now (so long as the wind doesn't blow too hard). In the winter my cover sits snug in the cuddy while the shrinkwrap does the heavy lifting/supporting. No way my cover (which is identical to the one pictured) could support snow/ice even in mild CT winter without ripping. |
