Re: Bigshrimpin's , SeaCraft
Hey Labii - good to hear from yah!!
I'll post some photos this weekend of the project. I actually own two Seacraft (a 76 and a 78). Both are Master Anglers. There was a charter boat captain out here (www.salmonqueen.com) that had one for sale with a 1999 150 ficht. I bought that one for $3250 (on ebay). Then I sold the radar $700 and the motor for $2500. I bolted the 1981 Merc 225 on the back of the boat. I've been fishing this boat and slowly making progress on the other. The project boat now has a sweet molded, tapered fishbox 50" x 20" and has been foamed in with 2lb pour foam. The floor had been cut and shaped and laminated. It just needs to go in. Once I have the project boat working . . . I'll sell the other seacraft. The wife has been on my case for having two boats. ;D |

TOo funny . . . Thought you guys might like to see a picture of the boat in action.
This one was taken (by the previous owner) 70miles offshore at guide seamount. http://www.salmonqueen.com/images/ns...o8_jpg_jpg.jpg |

Re: Bigshrimpin's , SeaCraft
70 miles off shore in a 20 footer!! :o
You no you will not get that far here in the north east in a 20 footer, and live to talk about it!! Been 25 miles and sweeted it all day!! |
Re: Bigshrimpin's , SeaCraft
It's nutz . . . The boat is in this video . . .
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/09...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Bob Franko (coastside fishing club founder) is talking about how modern boats enable anglers to reach the offshore grounds in rough weather (60 miles out). Then they cut to a scene in some really nasty weather and you see the 1976 seacraft bobbing up and down hooked up to a Tuna. It's a pretty wild 10 - 15 second clip. |
Re: Bigshrimpin's , SeaCraft
I just took the boat in to have the engine mounted today . The glass guy was running a little behind and I just got it back from him this am . I hope to have the boat in the water this weekend . The weather here has been terrible , nothing but rain and wind all week . We should see sun and mid 60's by the weekend and God willing I will be on the water .
