Double Clamp

Well maybe ive been fortunate but the last time out i noticed just a little water maybe coming from my clamps. My setup is floor drain to a T and splash well to the outside. Everything is just single clamped. I know the rule is below waterline dbl. clamp is that what everyone has. Pain in the *** to reach down there to work on things. Only way thru top hatches on corners. I guess bigger pain in the *** if one comes lose. Just wondering if there is a better mouse trap someone is using.

Z, you're right about the bigger PIA to come...my bet is you'll stop the leak by tightening the existing clamp, but there's a whole STACK of good reasons to double-clamp 'em under the water-line... ;) :) ...

Re: Double Clamp

I dont trust any of them so I plug mine when I am on the water in addition to double clamping them. I hate any kind of through hull fitting that could take on water. I dont like that gurgle sound of water sloshing in and out when a couple of guys are fishing at the stern so unless its raining real hard I just plug em from the outside . The motor well drains I leave open as they ride higher..but if they were lower then I would plug them too..Frank
