Re: Almost a limit!
Nice job Mac. Did you make that fish board with nails or hooks or what. If you use nails, did you cut the heads off or not nessecary. I Got to make one of those

Re: Almost a limit!
Yes it was a nice day on the lake. I've seen some charters that have catch boards so I made my own. I used a 2x4 and nails, heads were left. the nails were driven in on a slight angle. Fish are hooked through gill plates. My winter project is to make a new and improved board. Billy Mac ;D

Re: Almost a limit!
Here's a slight spin on the idea. *A little less intrusive - i.e. could be stored on the boat easier. *;) Either way works. :D

Re: Almost a limit!
BR are the fish hooked on the line or is the line run through the lip. Our board is stored upright in a corner of the shed. Billy Mac ;D
With the line you can take it with you and have a good photo op! |
Re: Almost a limit!
Well, first, that's not me in the pic ;D
Billy Mac, I haven't seen it up close but I'm almos 100% certain that is either a wooden or steel dow with a sharpened end, that you simply poke through the bottom lip of the fish. I see why you thought it might be a line now, but I'm almost certain its more like a rod. You could store it similar to the way one would store a gaff on the boat. Blue |
Re: Almost a limit!
Yea a line would probably have more sag. Billy Mac
