Wiring question

My V has a Green and Yellow wire that seems to be the main power to the small fuse panel under the dash. Is the Yellow wire the positive wire and the Green negative? Why couldn't they use Black and Red like everyone else >:(?

Re: Wiring question

I "think" that yellow is now acceptable for power, green is bonding in theory, but bonding is ground also...

Re: Wiring question

yellow is now the accepted ground, black used to be the negative, green is bonding( all objects that touch sea water are bonded together), Red is still 12 Volts positive. I woouldn't assume anything on your boat, small boats and previous owners make any combination of wiring colors posible. Don't assume anyhting, check each wire with a volt/ohm meter before you go pluging power into it

Spare, thanks for clearing that up. I have to go poke my head back into the bowels of a glacier Bay next week end would have remembered then.

Things have changed in the last few years because the confusion caused on board with boats having both 12v systems and 110v systems on board.
