SP, you are the apex predator! What is your eeling technique? Drift , troll, fishfinder rigs, just let em swim???? Good job ;D

Man, your killing me with my boat still being in the canvas shop. We fished off Wach yesterday and the bite was spotty at best. Ended up with one fish that was only 27". Lots of birds and bait but few fish. Heard there was a good ocean bite off Quimby.

Re: Another eeling report.

Thanks guys. There are some nice quality fish there right now. Im going EARLY tommorow for some more!

TINMAN; The Maritime Skiff is mine. Thats what we caught the fish in. *Yes Its a 2004 20D with a 115 Four stroke Yamaha. I bought it new in Nov. 05. I had a 21.5 Kencraft Challenger for ten years and I sold it and went smaller with the Maritime. *I really like it ALLOT! Its ride is very good for that size boat and its very good on fuel. Its a cold ride this time of year though...

AIR: you need to go get some before they are gone!

SP,

You must have had them all up there by you. 5 hours around the BBT today and only came up with 3 worth keeping. 22-26 inch range.

Re: Another eeling report.

Phester: We drift the eels. We use medium spinning tackle with shimano baitrunner reels loaded with braid. Half the lines are freelined NO WEIGHT, and half have a small egg sinker(1/2 to 3/4oz) just above the swivel. I use 30 lb. flouro leader about 3 ft long and a 5/0 Eagle claw kahle hook. I like a light wire hook as it allows the eel to swim and those light wire hooks penetrate well.
We usually look for birds & bait and then we drift the area. When we cant find birds & bait we drift areas that usually produce fish. When its rough we deploy two drift socks to keep the boats nose into the waves and the lines behind the boat. We have been doing this for about 5 years with good luck. We used to be just about the only boat driftting in years past but this year everyone was dragging eels! The word is out I guess.
