Dropped her off today

Could not figure why my oil alarm was going off, checked what I could and said time to bring her to the mechanic. I will keep you informed on what happens.
Thanks for all the advice you gave me. I'm thinking it's the gear in the engine but I'm not sure.

Hoping it's no big deal, :news: good luck.

Hope it s something external. Worst case, you can go to premix. What kind of time frame did they tell you it would be

steplift20 06-14-2022 07:50 AM

He didn't , he said a few days then he will call me. The thing that has me stuck is that if your formiliar with the system I turned the bleed screw on the pump and it's right next to the tube that I think the oil flows thru to mix with gas and oil came out of the bleed screw imidiately but no oil flowed thru the tube.
I'm thinking that maybe it's time to mix oil and gas. I hope they don't screw me to much on price. I will keep you informed. Thanks
I hope spare reads this and gives me his advice.

as I previously mention, odds are the crank gear is bad. You will get some oil out of the oil line from being gravity fed from the oil tank on the engine. were you getting any voltage from the sensor on the oil pump when running?

Spareparts your right, it's the gear in the engine. The mechanic is bypassing the. Oil injection so now I just have to add oil to gas and I'm done with the okl injection system, but I have to say Mercury did a great job. Lasted a long time.

Good you caught it in time and didnt just turn the radio up not to hear the beeping.

One of the biggest mistakes that Mercury ever made was that fear. They made it out of plastic. When engines started blowing up because of no oil they just kept making them out of plastic instead of switching to a brass or Stainless gear that would have solved the whole problem.

When I go my 200 Merc engine I was lucky enough to to find a company that made an electronic oil injection system. Bought one years ago and have had zero problems with my oil injection ever since. Unfortunately, from what I can find out, they are now out of business so that system is no longer available. Not much need for one on a 4 stroke..... <sigh>

I'm retired, but I seriously think I'm going to go back to work, take all the money I make and buy a new 4 stroke. I figure 20K should do it. The trick is going to be finding a job near enough that I don't have to use a lot of gas to get there.

I got my oil injection removed today. So I don't have to worry about that anymore. I personally don't like or want a 4 stroke. I love my 2 stroke. And Mercury is my choice.
