Topsail Island Spanish
 

Fished out of New River Inlet this past weekend. Stayed within sight of land, mostly pretty close to land. Went from one bunker bait ball to the next. Ended the day with 7 Spanish, biggest was 25.5 inches. 10 Blues,(thrown back), 10 lizards(thrown back). The big pond was flat this weekend.

Nice job spare, got the makings for some great fish tacos. We ve had a lot of wind lately on the weekends, so Ive been staying in the bay. Heard some nice kings have been caught, so maybe soon

Side note, have you noticed the price of gas slowing down any boaters? I just topped off 35 gallons because I found rec 90 for 4.85. That was 170 bucks for half a tank. Sheesh

Red snapper opens this week, got a friend with an Intrepid with 3 merc 350 s. I usually go with him, but my share of fuel would probably be 200-275 bucks. Lotta money for 2 fish.

no kings, my personal best Spanish was 27 inches. Fuel was $5.95 per gallon of E-Free 91 at New River Marina. $120.00 for 20 gallons. My phone has slowed down, lucky that i have several big jobs at the shop. plenty of people fishing, but the sand bar crowd was smaller
