two different days, like night and.....
went out yesterday. wind against tide. standing still. cloudy and crappy. zero drift. windy and cold. kid caught a big short and a huge searobin. maybe 4 pounds. 1 to 2 in the bay.
today. late start. started fishing about 11:30am. slack high with a nice breeze to keep us moving. partly cloudy. warm. take your shirt off weather. tide started running. found a nice little pocket of fish. sun came out. enough breeze to keep it comfortable. steady pick of short fish. kid catches a nice keeper. released unharmed. i caught a fat little keeper. brought him to the surface. saw he was barely hooked. perfect. he slapped his tail and he was gone. caught a nice smooth dogfish. thought it was a super doormat. nice little searobin. really a beautiful fish. all in all, over a dozen fish and some gorgeous weather/conditions.
now i'm slow roasting a rack of st louis ribs that were on sale for $6 bucks. cook them till tender, then throw them on the grill for that special char. this was a good weekend. back to work tomorrow.
