Old reg numbers….
So I took the heat gun to the residue from the old numbers and I can’t get the old glue off. What did you guys use?

Charlie, try Goo Gone, I think that;s what it's called, or just plain alcohol with a little elbow grease.

Dam G. I only wish it was that easy. I picked up some goo gone gel and had at it. Waste of time and money. Took the heat gun to it and that was just as futile. I got enough of it off so that I can put the new numbers on.
I go to DMV Friday morning and if all goes as planned, I’ll apply the numbers on Friday afternoon (after a quick stop off at White Castle). For those of you who have never had the castle…. You don’t know what you’re missing. Well, it’s almost here. |
Charlie, did you try your wife's acetone, it take off he nail polish?
WOW love White Castle:nice: Haven't had them in a while. After a playing a baseball game we would get them by the case and worry about suffering the next day.:haha: |
Hmm... Did you buy outside of NY?
in NJ you keep the numbers if they are NJ numbers. |
i did buy out of state. in the people's republic of new yorkistan, we change the numbers when transferring ownership, regardless.
haven't tried polish remover. i'm gonna break out the polishing wheel and see if i can't compound it out. if not, i got most of it off and the new numbers should show well enough. |
