That's a nice Red!!! WOW, I didn't know Redfish weren't good to eat. Is it just me, but aren't they strictly regulated? Why aren't they good to eat, oily or just a gamey taste like our Weakfish? The Weakfish comment is my opinion.
Two Redfish, Please release me let me go, is still a
GREAT DAY ON THE WATER!!!!

G, I didn t phrase that right, redfish ARE good for the table, but in Florida, the slot limit is 18 to 27 inches, this one is illegal to keep.

That said even when the big bulls were legal, they often were muddy tasting and usually not kept for food. My favorite size to eat was 12-15 inches, but now have to settle for 18 inches.

It's like the Bluefish, the big ones are not a tasty fish, but the smaller ones, the Snapper Blues and the cocktails are really delicious, not as oily.

Still you had a fun day on the water, nothing is better.
