Bring back the V

Topics been discussed but why not .

Seems boat manufacturers giving what the public wants by stuffing every imaginable feature into a boat. All kinds of plugs outlets features that can so easily break down over time .

The other thing I notice is how some boats look like floating Clorox bottle molds.

The simplicity and usefulness of the V combined with looking like a boat made it the longest selling model. Wonder if could easily be updated and offered again.
I know Wellcraft did re introduce a V around 2004 but it didn’t sell well

It would be great to bring it back but in today's market it would be a 70k boat!!

They should bring it back ,like ford did with the mustang and dodge did with the challenger. How great would it be if you can walk into a dealership and buy a brand new V20 , and I really can't think of any thing to add to it. Just fiberglass the cabin put storage under the cabin seating area on the side ( I don't know why they have don't have them) maybe lighting on the deck and that's it.

Yes ....but with the Hull from the original Mosley 21 seacraft .
That was a cuddy like the V but with a monster hull that towered over the bigger seacraft 23’ Sceptre. It had a very tall deep V up front that tapered back.

That hull was built for ocean work in rough seas and was a beast .
Few remain but look up picks and youll see what I mean

It's a long read, but if you want to know more about Moesly and Sea Craft I highly recommend that you read:

The floating Clorox bottle reference is spot on. I hate that generic boat shape. No character.

I would like to see the general idea revived, with a few minor modifications.

1. Enlarge it in all dimensions by 10%. This would bring LOA to 22 feet and beam to 8'6". This would help compensate for today's heavier motors and heavier people.

2. Raise the front deck and windshield each a few inches. Seeing a foot of green water coming over the windshield at you can raise your stress levels.

3. Full transom with bracket and a built in swim platform. Not a European swoopy thing, just an easier way to get in and out and mount a big outboard.

4. Higher Quality construction and of course, no wood.

never happen. nobody wants a cuddy or an express.
They are selling 37 ft bowriders now.

STOP read your post on how to improve the V Leave it like it is, Basic just improve the construction, no wood but leave it original that's what we need Not bigger not smaller exactly the same. Only ( for sale V 20 wellcraft 2021 model comes with a 150 Mercury 2 stroke ( ok maybe 4 stroke but I like 2 stroke) price with motor $ 29,000 with trailer. Comes with 6 rod holders.
