Support hull when replacing stingers?

If the V20 is on roller trailer with the cap removed is it necessary to brace the hull to keep the proper shape when replacing the stingers and transom? If so what is the best method?

I would think you would want to remove it from trailer and place it on stands to make it easier to work on and more stable. And yeah I would support the whole boat in multiple areas. I read another post where the guy had issues with the bottom of the hull bowing in when stripped down.

I didn’t remove the cap, I cut and removed the deck. Kept the boat on the trailer, raised the boat slightly to level it. Supported the hull with 8ft 2 x 4s along the keel, chines and strakes. I used the trailer frame and cinder blocks on the ground as the base to support the 8ft 2 x 4s. I used a combination of 2 x 4s and plywood on top of the rollers where they were not against the hull. Prob overkill but that’s the way I prefer it.

Havent done it yet but mine needs new stringers. I would do it the way you are but take a measurement across the top to make sure it doesnt spread when u take the floor out. May have to use a ratchet strap to hold it where it it supposed to be?
Look through the myfathersson post. Its long but that guy did some good work. Not sure if its finished, he hasnt been on in a while. Hope he is ok.

Would be interested to know how you cut the deck open and rebuilt it if possible. Please post pics here of your work if possible and good luck with the build.
Cheers
Ashok

I have not rebuilt the deck yet. I cut the deck out with a circular saw and an isolating tool. I’m in the middle of replacing the transom with Seacast. See my other thread with Jeanne Marie in the title.
