Sea star hydronic steering torque questionn I am replacing the seal on a sea star hydrolic system, the spanner nut says it should be torqued to 60 foot pounds, that seems like it is very high since the torqu on my prop is 55 foot pounds. Did anyone ever replace a seal on a sea star system and is that correct 60 foot pounds. Thanks for any replys |

I just replaced the seals on a Seastar cylinder. Mine did not have any corrosion and the spanner nut broke free very easily. I did not torque it back, but tried to exert the same force as it had when I removed it. The nut is made out of aluminum so I did not want to over tighten. I would err on the side of caution. |

Greyduk I feel the same way but the instructions says 60 foot pounds of torque I think is pushing it to the breaking point myself I'm with you |
