Will a 130HP OMC be enough for a V20?
 

Just got an 18 Sport project with a 115 on it and wouldn't you know a V20 pops up that is in my budget. The motor looks bad but I have a 99 130 Johnson sitting on a motor stand. Will that be enough power until I can finish and sell the 18 and go bigger and newer power on the V20.

The short answer is yes, a 130 is plenty strong enough to get you up on plane. Your top end will not be blazing fast, but you should be able to hit in the 30's without too much problems. :head:

The 130 will be more than enough provided you get it propped correctly. I think with a stainless 4 blade prop it should do VERY well.
