08.20.2018 - Went out on the MoJoe skiff
 

We went down to Joe's skiff today we thought we might get out, the wind was kicking butt, so we stayed in. There were at least 30 cats running all around the marina and Joe had more cat crap on his boat. I said lets go crabbing in the creek, he was disgusted he didn't want to go, but after an hour or so I talked him into it and that was cut short, it started to rain.

We crab the same way, but the are clinging right now, so that's what we did. The rain, as usual ruined the day.

I use traps. I head out into the water on my canoe or row boat and set about a dozen traps in a wide circle with pieces of white foam on the ends of the lines, then I just go from trap to trap. By the time I get back to the starting trap there's enough time for another crab to get into it. Easy

My brother and a buddy caught 50 blueclaws yesterday at the dock. 14 of them were softshells. Then they drank beer and fried softshells and drunk-texted me a picture just to taunt me....
