Snow storm March 8
Band of convective snow developed, thunder, lightening, and snowfall rates 3"-4" per hour and briefly even heavier. We measured and timed 1" in about 12 minutes which is about as heavily as it snows ........anywhere.
Trees, branches, power lines down as it was a very heavy wet snow. |
I've been without power since the storm. Running on my 6500 watt generator. Lent my small 2500 watt to my neighbor that didn't have one so at least they have heat and don't loose the food in their refrigerator. Wires are down at the end of my street. Waiting for JCP&L to fix them. 64,000 people without power. We lost one huge branch (6-8" dia) off one tree.... landed in our driveway but missed all the cars. Couple shrubs are the worst for wear but they will come back in time. All in all we were lucky. Lots of trees and branches down all over the place. Hope everyone's okay.

Paul, your bringing back flashbacks of sandy and the 105 ft tall tree that fell on my house, electrical service was in the inground pool, no electric for 14 days. I came through both storms with no issues whatsoever, but still panic when I see heavy winds !! Hope ya get power soon buddy.
