V 21 owners - fuel capacity Brochure spec sheet indicates 60 gallon tank. Some have reported it's 70 but I don't see any back up to that. Others ? |

dunno V21 for sure but my 84 V20 cuddy had a factory 60gl. When I replaced it they used same outside dimensions but thicker stock and more baffles, so its 57 now. Done see how you get 1.34 cubic ft (10 gals) more tank in the same space. |

BTW- my recent long trip on the V20 I topped off at the inlet, fuel gauge pegs Full long before it spits. I topped of on return with 50 gals even. The fuel gauge read Empty for the last 10 miles. My brother saying 'Should we use the spare cans before we die in the inlet?" I say "No, we got it, no problem!" Back story... 2 weeks before, we ran the 23 Sea Hunt to Lindenkohl canyon. We added 15 gals from cans at the dock to "top off" the 103 gal tank before leaving. Yamaha gauge said FULL. Gauge tells you fuel burn and total used. We burned 93 gal back to Barnegat Inlet..."Should we refuel at the inlet or run the 20 miles back to dock?"... "we got it" he says. So then we needed to gas it up for Mako Mania. Digital gauge reads one click above Empty. Going to the closest gas dock. I say "Shouldn't we take that full 5 gal can in case we run out?"...."No, we got it" he says...needless to say, 3 minutes later we had to make a call to the house and have someone bring us the 5 gal can on the waverunner... After topping off, the math worked out that we had started with 97 gals instead of 103. The tank did hold 103 when full to spitting. Moral of the story- You gotta know for sure the tank is full... |

60 gallons, however....I pumped my tank dry last year and subsequently filled it up with 64 gallons. Assume when they say "60 gallons" they mean 60 use-able gallons. |

Posts appreciated - likely to replace my sending unit with better function. Shows more remaining than actual confirmed with refill. May try adjusting first......better to show less than actual. |

With the merc smart gauge , it shoes % of fuel used and gallons used. Gallons is usually with in 2-3 gallons on a 35-40 gallon fill up. % of tank is not very accurate. |
