PLAN CAME TOGETHER!!!!
Got in Mako Mania tournament Sunday on the 23 Sea Hunt.
Went to just shy of Texas Tower and set up a drift. Got & released about a 150 Dusky early which helped us get our ship together.
Then a couple of different love taps without a take. Read them on the fishfinder coming in, a couple clicks and nothing. Another one you could tell got wrapped in the wire. So were drifting along listening to Thin Lizzy and I see some birds and commotion about 1/4 mile ahead. "I think thats tuna"..."No, thats just dolphins"......."THAT"S TUNA!" Crank 'em in and get 2 daisy chains back...big tuna and 3 sharks crushing sand eels. Made a circle and got hit on the second go around. 66" Bluefin!
So we set out 2 shark baits and were bleeding the tuna and then gutting and taking pix on the bow and not paying attention.....bahzeeeeee! screamer mako!
Handled him pretty easy on the 80 and I put a slug in his brain.:bat:
We were due and we got rewarded. 76" and weighed in at 160...6th place:sun:
