Sleighride to the Cayman's article
I'm not sure if this has been posted here before, but I came across this article from OLE at Parker Marine in FL.

Big Shrimpin,
Thanks for posting this! Amazing story! |
Wow. Bigger balls than I..

Several years back when someone asked about going to Bimini I had mentioned hearing of someone going to the Caymans on a V-20.
Cool to hear it wasn't just BS. With today's technology, fuel efficient engines, and drones to fly to check out unfamiliar waters ahead seems like this could be done a lot more easily today. With restrictions on Cuba opening up, jumping straight from the Keys to the north coast of Cuba and then on to the Yucatan and central America is in the future. |

And I gotta admit that I like that twin 85's setup. If they could do it back then, why not now? |
great post!

I'll bet the leg from Jamaica to Cayman brac gets kinda lonely.

Navigating those dangerous shallow waters with a compass, running low on fuel and daylight! I'd be scared to freakin death. Those young farts!

That's a great article! Thanks for posting it up! Id love to try something like that but id definitely need some spare gas cans.
