V20 front U ring replacement
 

Hello All,

I just noticed that the back plate to front U ring (Trailer U ring) has rusted badly and needs to be replaced. I think I will be able to put her in this season, but would like to repair this before I need to take it out in November. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?
I have a 1987 V20.

do you have the one that ties into the lifting eye?
There is a thread by Jjuriga?? about a Bow Eye.

Mine had no lifting eye. It is just a flat piece of metal.
I added a wider piece of aluminum and oversize stainless washers.

oh, check the wood in there, its probably powder. you might have to repace and glass over or use high strength filler.

Beeen done more than a few times, good that you're doing it, that one little bolt holds the whole works!

Hey man, I did mine last fall... I bought the bow eye from a local marine supply store (I think it was sea choice brand, like 8 bucks) and for the angled metal bracket that backs the bow eye and also holds down the the lifting eye, I had that custom made here in Ft Lauderdale. I used the Thumbtack app to find a private fabricator that did it for around $60. Used 1/4" stainless if I remember correctly.
