'87 Cuddy V-20. 20" or 25" transom?

Ok V-20 vets, I'm looking at a '87 V-20 Cuddy and am curious if they came with a 20 or 25" transom. The boat is set up for a 25" now just wondering if that's proof the transom has had work done. All the ones I've owned were originally 20's built up but they were 70's models.

Either one. If you look through the old ordering guides, you could get them either way straight from WELLCRAFT.

I thought my 85 had a 25 until that fateful day at Salt Pond Shoal when i discovered it was a 20 that had been built up. Has a 25 now.

Well I guess it will remain a mystery. Hopefully I'll never have to dig into it to find out.

The 87 brochure says standard equipment 25" transom, you could order them straight from WELLCRAFT with an optional 20" FACTORY cut down transom. If you go through the brochures of different years, you can find factory photo stock from WELLCRAFT of 20" transoms like this 80 model in the lower right corner of the pucture. 10 years here have shown me they could be gotten however somebody wanted one ordered.
