1986 V-20 Fisherman center console issue
I have the subject boat. While trying to mount a used T-Top from a different boat I noticed that my console is mounted about 1 1/2 inches to the starboard side of the boat. have not seen or heard of this problem before, has anyone else run into this? Appears to be from the factory this way. Looks like when it was installed they centered it on the deck cover over the fuel tank instead of centering it to the hull. Any ideas about this? Is it common? Or just bad luck / workmanship?

Truthfully, I'm not aware of that problem, but, unless it's somehow effecting the installation of the t top I'd subscribe to the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".. Leave it alone, it's not hurting anything is it?

Built on a Friday or maybe a Monday.

You'd be surprised at the number of boats that will not conform to a ruler or square. The highest majority I've fooled with won't do it.
maybe I've only gotten those Friday Monday boats |
As somebody else once told me before, they're all like snowflakes. At first glance they all look the same, but upon closer inspection they're all a little different, and no two are exactly the same.

Look at the wire run from underneath the console to the stern. If they cut (butchered up) a big hole in the fuel tank hatch then that may be the reason they slid the console to one side... Otherwise, my center console has been modified but the console is fairly close to being centered and always was, so I defer to the Snowflake Theory..

Soooo IS this a problem??? I say no... After all you sit a little to the left of the center of the console... This just moves you closer to the center of the boat.
