Boat cover thoughts

Soon to purchase. Any recommendations?

This is the one I bought. It's one of the cheapest eBay had for a T-top boat but it's actually very nice. I'm very pleased with it. I believe the brand was Aquos. I'm sure one for a cuddy boat would be a bit cheaper.

If your looking for a winter cover do a search in the forum.
Pool cover is what many use for winter covers..... I think!

Yep. Oval Winter pool covers are the best value for your hard earned dollars. They last years longer than the flimsy blue tarps, fit better and most come with vinyl covered wire cable and a winch to tighten the cover around your boat. Do a search of this site for boat covers to find what size and where to buy. (Get the 15 year cover. it's the best, and the cost is half to 1/2 what you would pay for a "custom" cover that won't last you 5 years)

i just purchase a black pool cover for my boat 12x 24 oval winter cover with 8 year warranty(arctic armor) from amazon prime for $30 free s/h.

That's pretty smart there y'all!, blue tarps suck learned that lesson many years ago. Most boat covers never fit well or last long. But pool covers are tough!

I gave up & built a pole barn, but the boat still gets dusty & dirty like you wouldn't believe.

LOL Us northern guys have a good idea every now and then. I came up with the idea years before I was a member here. Started sharing it when I joined this site and I don't know how many people here use them now but I know it's a lot. We work too hard for our money to just throw it away on something that only lasts a year or two before it falls apart. Winter pool covers (Especially the 15 year ones) last season after season. That's a winning formula in my book.

P.S. To protect your cover and your boat, put something soft on all sharp corners between your boat and your cover. (Like the windshield corners, chocks, etc.) I used to use rags, but someone here suggested pool noodles and they work absolutely great and are CHEAP!!! Just cut them to fit, slit them lengthwise, place them over the object. They last for several years before they need to be replaced. Haven't had a poke thru on my covers since I started using them. Awesome!!!

good post, Destroyer. I use foam air conditioner line covers at Home depot for the windshield and cleat and corners I use outdoors carpet.

good source for the cover: empirecovers.com

I use foam pool noodles split open with a razor knife, even cheaper than the ac line insulation.

What can I say, we people in Miami are lazy, the A/C lines are already cut....
