Evinrude new G2 outboards

Seems another big step forward.........

1. 15-20% improved fuel economy
2. More torque and power
3. Automatic option to self trim for maximum efficiency
4. One tube to the engine, clean.
5. Can increase rpm 50 at a time.......amazing

I like evinrudes, but still not crazy about them looks wise.

I saw a few at the various shows this year and the look is growing on me. I think in the right color they're not too bad.

saw one about a year ago, good concept on the replacable panels to color match your boat, really poor execution. Ugliest moptor Ive ever seen. Ran into a Bomb rep at the ramp test running a new 300 G2, talked about some of the new inovations on them. Power steering and power trim use an integrated system. You would think they would get with the industry and upgrade to four stroke after getting their *** handed to them in sales for the past 15 years. Rotec is already making DFI fourstroke engines, and the G2 weights arne't that good. They have some good ideas but the whole package is getting left behind by the rest of the market

Two stroke torque...a lot less service...and efficiency getring closer to 4 stroke.

No service needed for 400 hours....

I disagree about the long service intervals. 300 to 400 hours is too long to wait to change gear oil or fuel filters, not to mention water pumps. Especially on a consumer/ pleasure use engine that gets run hard and then sits up, many get less than 100 hours of use per year. My 2010 150 has less than 300 hours and is on it's third water pump.

I agree with Spare about the market share. Sometimes makes you feel like the dodge truck at the Chevy show.
