Sandy Hook Bay Marine Sanctuary Proposal
 

I just discovered the attached proposal to turn Sandy hook Bay into a National Marine Sanctuary.
I have not attended a meeting yet but I am told that this will affect fishing and boating.
Anyone know about this or have any info?

It will. They'll tell you whether or not you can fart, and cite you accordingly.

I don't know a thing about it, but ONE thing I do know...... ANY time a group wants to "manage" an area "for the good of all the public" there is a hidden agenda somewhere that will make someone a lot of money at the expense of the rest of the people. :cen: :cen: :cen: :cen: :cen:

Step one to closing down fishing I bet.

Or.......maybe that little section just inside the hook has been found to be a nesting ground for several species of fish........and that we'll ultimately benefit from it by virtue of more fish later.

Maybe, but this plan calls for the entire Sandy Hook Bay. Shrewsbury River, Navesink River and tributaries to be designated as a Sanctuary.
If deemed a "Breeding Ground" it may limit fishing, boating and crabbing.

Marine police would be kept real busy enforcing that area....with boats coming and going all over that section.
