Ha, well my DF140 is off the transom so I can't say positively, but I believe yes, even with cav plate.

I have a thousand pictures of my boat and not one shows it on the trailer with the motor down.

These are the same transom holes my old Merc150 were in.
On my DF140, top bolts go in the second hole from the top.

Here are some pix of measurements in relation to the bottom of boat.

Hope this helps?
Also, I have a pdf of the service manual. Send me a pm with your email and I'll send a link to it on Google Drive.

Sweet thanks!!

Mine is even, but I think it would be fine one hole up, up on plane the cav plate has water going over the top of it.

What prop do you have?

Everything I ever saw about proper motor height boils it down to cav plate height above the water w/boat on plane.

The cav plate on plane should be 1/2" to 1" above the water.

The only reason to set it any lower would be if your particular hull/motor/prop combination has a tendency to blow out on turns....and that assumes you're trimming the motor full down on those turns...
