Where to get bimini top?
Are there any off the shelf options or am I looking a custom jobber?
I'd like something simple like this: http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/album06/Dock_2010 I see some universal ones out there, Westland for instance, but would like to hear some opinions on this. Thanks! |
well crap!
old links don't work anymore |
Just be sure you are going to be able to stand up.
That first picture looks a little low and the windshield angles back into the drivers face. Definitely going to knock your hat off. Don't try to match the windshield angle, go straight up. |

How does this type of top hold up at speed? Does it fold forward or back? |
they can handle 40 mph no problem....for a couple years.
How they fold depends on how you mount them. The one pictured has adjustable straps on the 'front" which would normally clip to the top of the windshield and solid vertical bars in the "rear" so it would fold backwards like an arch behind the driver. It would be 46" above the gunnel. I had one with straps on both ends so it could fold forward onto the windshield frame. |

I can run in the low 50's and haven't had any problems with the top so far. They are well made tops, with double walled 1" tubing. Solid, well made units. I love mine. And add to that the included boot and shipping and you cannot beat it for the price. |
