So...each trip down to Baja and each morning we launch and have to run the bilge pump forever...same thing at the ramp...pull the plug and it drains forever...put the plug in...added garden house and voila! found the leak

Best technique for repair? simple as pull the bolt seal it with_____ and replace..sealant suggestions?

Thanks

5200, but make sure the hole is dry first.. and I mean DRY!!!... as in leave the bolt out and hit the area with warm from a heater for a day or so dry. The wood in your transom does not like wet. Wet causes dry rot, which is the number 1 reason transoms rot out. Coat the bolt and the hole completely including the inside of the hole, then assemble.

Also reseal ALL of the bolts and IF they have silicone in on around them remove ALL of it before resealing w 5200

so...two to chose from 5200 or 4200 one is permanent one not....on the engine mounting bolts...best choice??

Use the 5200.

just how good is your motor? Plan on replacing it anytime soon? 4200 or life caulk will be fine

5200.... Nothing is permanant.... A hammer knocks the bolts right out and a drill bit cleans the hole

Remember tho it is IMPORTANT to get ALL of any silicone out if it's in there.... The 5200 (or 4200 for that matter) won't seal to silicone... Drill the holes SLIGHTLY bigger if you have to.
