 Found the boat leak So...each trip down to Baja and each morning we launch and have to run the bilge pump forever...same thing at the ramp...pull the plug and it drains forever...put the plug in...added garden house and voila!   found the leak starboard side lower engine mounting bolt Best technique for repair? simple as pull the bolt seal it with_____ and replace..sealant suggestions? Thanks |

 5200, but make sure the hole is dry first..  and I mean DRY!!!... as in leave the bolt out and hit the area with warm from a heater for a day or so dry.  The wood in your transom does not like wet.  Wet causes dry rot, which is the number 1 reason transoms rot out.  Coat the bolt and the hole completely including the inside of the hole, then assemble. |

 Also reseal ALL of the bolts and IF they have silicone in on around them remove ALL of it before resealing w 5200 |

 so...two to chose from  5200 or 4200   one is permanent one not....on the engine mounting bolts...best choice?? |

 5200.... Nothing is permanant.... A hammer knocks the bolts right out and a drill bit cleans the hole Remember tho it is IMPORTANT to get ALL of any silicone out if it's in there.... The 5200 (or 4200 for that matter) won't seal to silicone... Drill the holes SLIGHTLY bigger if you have to. |
