finally seized 150 engine is no more
2 Attachment(s)
well i got that 85 Johnson seized 150 engine torn apart. i had to cut off the exhaust housing with a cutting wheel to separate it from the block. i split the case and removed the pistons and rods. i enclosed a few pictures. i didn't think a seized engine would come apart so easily.

Are you fixing it or just exploring?

I've seen several engines that people thought the power head was locked up on but turned out to be a locked up lower unit. Just something to check.

no, i had separated the lower unit early in the project, i almost stripped the flywheel trying to turn it. then all the midsection bolts the attached to block either snapped or just turn. i had it hanging upside down for a while, spraying the bolts with pb blaster and applying some heat. all with no luck. finally last week i took a cutting wheel to the midsection. and separated it from the block i still have the lower unit intact. Probably take it to a shop and get an option on the block. will send pictures soon,

I think MJ had a Mercury like that, wouldn't separate.
