Just a photograph of some Lake Erie gold.

Dang, them some fat boogers and very good eats!
This is typical of ours around here. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psa677df80.jpg I've caught them up to 12" in the Savannah River and her tributaries. That one came from Lake Oconee, about 8" long. |
Ive always heard those were good eating. Yellow perch correct?
We call crappie perch down here and its my favorite. Good stuff |
Yep, yellow perch, fresh from Lake Erie. real good eats. Mild, flaky and firm. We also have crappie here, mostly on inland lakes. They are good, but not as good as yellow perch. They (crappie) tend to be a bit mushy when caught in warmer water, but are more firm when caught through the ice.
