But Tin good deal on a bracket V20 that can always be repainted later.

Yes on the center console, price depends on the boat.

My needs are: Fly fishing friendly, handle 2-3' ers with no problem, able to sight fish the flats up North AND drift the rips, economical, easy to maintain and able to guide on.

Downsides of a V20:

A little more draft than I'd like, but may be doable

Won't be too economical unless It has, say a 140HP Suzie 4 stroke.

I could keep the Tin boat for the flats but would rather have a one boat does-it-all, which until now I thought was impossible.

I was on a 22' Panga the other day, not perfect, but close. I've done lots of research on these and it's all possitive for what I want out of a boat.

Downsides of the Panga:

Fit and finish is pretty lousy. All the hardware for hatches and things were coming loose...Nothing a little loctite couldn't fix. Looking down the hull sides it's quite wavy.

They are new so no deals on used ones yet.

Narrow beam and kind of ugly.

I can get a demo 22'er w/Johnson 90 carb 2-stroke, aluminum trailer for around $18k. Wish it was an E-tec but it's not.

Here's some pics, boat is exactly like this except a 90hp instead of the 115 shown.

It's more than I want to spend but for the reliabilty of a new boat and being guide ready, may be worth it. I would need electrnics though.....I'm so confused :o

Not crazy all about the color. But could live with it.

For that much $$ you need to be able to pick your color - MHO.

Tin, me thinks you need 2 boats. Get yourself a little Sundance skiff or carolina skiff. I say sundance cause they make a B20 with the semi-v on the front which is similar to the Carolina Skiff 198 semi-v but wider and nicer in my opinion. When I was looking not too long ago I could have bought one brand new with new trailer and no motor for $7500. Add a 115hp for around 1500 and you've now got 9k in a dang good boat.

After that's all done and you're all happy and stuff, find you a V20 for all your serious fishing (over ankle deep that is).

Should be able to get a real nice used V-20 or V-21 for the other 9k you have left over after not buying that Panga.

I wish I had two boats (can you tell?). ;D

CBill, yes about the Jones bros. Not crazy about the 14* deadrise, she's a bit of a rough rider but otherwise a great boat. Parker and Steigers also nice but same deadrise.

No thanks on the skiffs...rather stick with my tin boat. Have you ever been in a CS in anything but calm conditons? Definately not for me.

2 boats = 4 registrations to renew, 2 motors, trailers and hulls to maintain. I really want to go with 1 boat.

I do like the older 20' Seacrafts, they have a 16* deadrise and ride pretty nice and draw only 12".
