Excellent fluke fishing ...... Sandy Hook Fished with my son yesterday, Friday, leaving Shark River around 6am. Tried a couple of spots at the Rocks - nothing so we ran up to Sandy Hook. It was nearly non stop action on keepers and throw backs on minnows and gulp. My son even landed a double header of 4-5lb size fluke one on the bucktail, one on the teaser. Probably caught 20 - 30 fish, keeping 8 big keepers. That's more than enough fish. Fantastic day, with the light N, NW wind lined up perfectly with outgoing tide for drift fishing. Calm seas, easy ride back down the beach. |

The fish started biting when the water warmed, but seem to be concentrated in areas. Spots from last year not producing, new are. That's fishing |
