Drop Shot rig for Perch

I know this is a bit of a stretch for here, seems that there's WAAAY more salties here than us inland seas guys. What's your rig for yellow perch? Spreaders, crappie rig, pike rig? I'm really interested to know if anyone is using a drop shot rig with the hooks directly on the line. Whats your bait of choice?

I traditionally use spreaders with a 3/4 oz. weight. #6 double snelled hooks and live emerald shiners. I'm thinking of switching to a 3 hook drop shot rig to better feel the bite.

I don't know what any of those words mean.

A double shelled hook is a hook with a snell knot, and a doubled leader. Eagle Claw makes them and they are getting harder to find.

Drop shot rig is our usual setup, no tangles, easier to hook up the shiners.

Two or three hooks? I'm new to drop shot rigs, I've only ever used spreaders.

usually just two....easier on the minnow supply. We tie two "dropper loops" on the main line a foot or so apart. Then just choker the loop through the eye of your hook. About 1 to 1-1/2 inches of loop is suffice.
