NEW MEMBER - need help, lost gas cap
 

Hey guys,
New to the site here but need to reach out to some fellow owners. I have an 83 V20 Fisherman CC and was getting her in the water last week and of course I left the cap on the gunwale after the fill up and its gone. I've tried replacement caps from west marine (1.5") and none fit. Does this really require a whole new stainless unit and install or does anyone have any ideas for a replacement cap. PM me if you have a scrap you could part with or reply. NEED HELP! Wanna get on the striper run soon!!!

If you know the brand of cap, perko, etc, you might find one on ebay or a marine salvage yard. If it isn't stainless you really should upgrade. The old zamak/pot metal kind can break off and spill fuel into your bilge.

There's a fancy push-button stainless steel one under the gas dock at Hoffman's marina...:sad:

Thanks for the help guys. Probably going to do a full replacement unit. Upgrade to stainless.

I had to replace my whole thing as I could not find a cap to fit the original opening.
