Gear you've lost over board over the years......
At least two cutting boards.
At least one rod / reel. A few knives. At least two minnow buckets. ( these don't like to ski behind the boat ) |
2) older gaffs
1) battery 1) SS grill But the wife wont sink LOL  |
I had a customer that lost a dog while cruising down the river. I watched his wife beat the s**t out of him when he and his buddy came back to the dock with an empty 30 pack and no dog.
As for me: boots stuck in mud, could now get um out 2 cell phones sunglasses too many $napon tools prob more but I choose to forget |
In the V I've lost 2 hats and a set of sunglasses.
Actually watched people loose dentures, prescription glasses, a Rolex, a wedding band, couple of reels, a stringer of illegal fish, an anchor and a couple of bait buckets. |
Fell overboard near Gunsmoke while retrieving a marker bouy. Swam around to the ladder with my wallet in my pocket. The heave-ho out of the water dislodged it and before I knew what was happening I could see it heading to Davey Jones locker. I dove for it because it was loaded with cash. I never caught it. Six hunerd clams and a gas card that would have got us home from Bradenton. Truck at the time ran on pre-mix..

My buddy when he was having a pi$$ of the back of my dads Lund-225Merc I thought he said go. I know now it was no!!! I never laughed so hard I couldn't even help him into the boat form the floor I was laying on.
|
I didn't expect so many PEOPLE dropped overboard.
And a 225 Merc on a Lund......... neck jerking acceleration for sure. |
My most lost overboard item seems to be pliers..I bet I have lost 5 or 6 pair over the years.
I now keep them tethered to my belt. |

Couple of rods and reels, one was in the rocket launcher pulling a lure that was a little too heavy. The rod had a wooden handle which decided to snap in two.
Lost a brand new "outrodder" rod holder in 40' of water next to the jetties at Murrells Inlet. My buddy got a bite, got exited pulled the whole thing out of the rod holder. I asked him to retrieve it for me but he wouldn't. Lost an old transom mount trolling motor on Lake Wylie. It is still there, right where I lost it. Took off with it down....heard a loud smack, looked back and the transom clamp was still clamped to the boat. LOL |
