right outside my inlet. . . . . . .
if you look in the background you'll see four buildings, large to small, like steps. I've been fishing right in front of those buildings for 45 years. this video was taken about 200 yards outside the inlet by a guy I know. these animals have never come this close to shore. this whale was in about 30-35 feet of water. on top of that they are a very rare species. the north atlantic right whale, of which I believe there are around 300 left on the planet. my wife and I rode our bikes up to the boardwalk and saw these whales about half mile offshore. what a sight.

We are a migration route for them, we see them all the time, and they are always getting caught in fishing gear or getting run over by a boat or something, I am sure there will be none left some day, so sad!

Pretty awesome video there. That whale jumping at 17 seconds into the video is just amazing. Thanks for the link Charlie.

funny, I just noticed. if you look at my picture next to my name you can see those four buildings. I just realized.
yeah, an amazing animal. they decided to share their planet with us and how do we thank them? we wipe out their species. man is the most dangerous animal of all. |
"...... if only I had a gun with a scope on it! How much does it cost to mount a whale? anybody know?"
