Syria

We probably shouldn't hit Syria - even though the moral aspect of it begs for action.

People are killed in other countries in other ways and we don't police the whole world.

It's a lousy situation..... bad people doing bad things - atrocities against civilians.
I'd like to see the other Arab Nations send in their own troops to kick Syria's leader out.

If Israel does anything.....all the Arab Nations and the UN are quick to " condem " but what about Syria ?

It's tricky...

On the one hand, we are signers of the UN ban against the use of chemical weapons... So we should help enforce that ban...

On the other hand, I don't want to see us dragged into another war where we seem to be the only ones spending money and resources and manpower to enforce something that the rest of the world seems to ignore...

Personally, I think we should let them settle their own differences... any way they want to... and stay out of it entirely.

Obama is trying to make the case that our own national interests are at stake in this, and I just don't see that arguement as holding water. I don't want to see another American soldier killed because of imagined "National Interests" that will really only help make the industrial sector more money.

I worry that the USA is only going to take action to "save face." You know, the red line crossed and all that.

I just have to wonder . . . do the folks that we are trying to help hate us any less than the ones that we are trying to hurt?
