Tab Install

Although I've done this a couple of times before, it's been a while...installing tabs is pretty straightforward, but can be a little tricky...first thing I realized it would go easier to remove the slats from the swim platform...a whole lot easier than taking the whole thing off the transom, than resealing and reinstalling

The shackle is through an eye attached to the trailer for the transom straps...the ones that WON'T go through or around the tabs now...so gotta provide a new attachment point up on the transom somewhere

The tricky part...especially if you forgot it from last time...is to drill the through hole for the nipple BEFORE you drill the screw holes...hope they line up

Gotta make a small bracket for the pump to sit on inside the bilge and mount the controls on the dash, run the wires and all that...a post for later on...:train:

Phatdaddy, I've never personally had a set of Lenco's and have never heard or experienced any reason not to...My good friend has Lencos on his 24' Everglades for 7 years now and has had to replace one actuator...not a showstopper for me as I'm sure there's SOMEBODY out there w/a similar story about hydraulics...I wouldn't hesitate to buy a pair of Lencos...Spare works on boats daily...I hope he sees your question and chimes in w/his experience...

i haven't replaced any lencos in a while, but sure have in the past. I really don't care for them and would not recommend them, the parts are expensive, the little black box goes out often, and the actuators will leak water in them if you leave the boat in the water all the time. There are plenty of people that have good luck with them, but I've had to work on plenty of them. I will say that the built in tab indicator is pretty slick. I have never seen a bad Bennett cylinder that wasn't caused by something hitting it. The only issues I've seen with Bennett tabs are usually related to mounting the pump in an area that raw water can get to or that stupid little four prong wire plug, i usually just cut it off and use heat shrink but connectors on the wires.
