can you say " flat bottom pounder"!

chumbucket 01-11-2013 07:36 AM

That boat is heavy enough that the pounding really isn't bad at all. And for my kind of fishing it is perfect.

There is a cult like following here in NJ especially for those boats. No they are not 25degree deep V's but they also do not pound. They are considered the masters boats for those that chase the striped bass and pursue the inshore bottom fishing in the north east.
I would love something like that but he is way to high price wise. I have seen them for that price completely redone, new power and a trailer. A diesel is not really the prime preferred motor for it either.
There are also to very different versions, one with rounded chines which a few prefer and the ones with hard chines which were drier, and rode and drifted better. I do not know which this is.
You got good taste my friend.

Willy;

I believe that change from soft to hard chimes occur in the late 70's/earlyy 80's. This one is hard chimed for sure. The bad part is everyone says they are slow.

Here a real tank for you. Image a new set of 300 four storkers on this thing. Can you say Battle Axe

Cummins Marine had a test boat down here that was a 26 pacemaker with a pair of 1.6L diesels/Alpha 1 drives. The test boat captain is a friend of mine, he said it would beat you fillings out if you ran it outside in the ocean, inside the jetties, it was OK
