Type of fiberglass for rod lockers?
I'm in the process of stripping my boat getting ready for paint and I'm going to repair the lockers while I have them out. I have a gallon of resin I bought from lowes stored in my basement from a few years ago and plan on using it for the job unless anyone knows of a reason I shouldn't.
Thanks in advance guys and I'll start posting some progress pics in a separate thread. |
I dunno what the rod boxes are made of,(center console doesn't have them) but it sounds reasonable to me.
Might want to test the MEK (hardener) to make sure it is still good before any large applications. It can go bad sitting on the shelf, I used to keep it in the fridge. Also if the boxes are fiberglass it will be a cinch. If they are plastic, then I think it will stil work but you might want to test compatability. Look forward to pictures. |
I need to do the samething. Any news on how the rod boxes turned out?

I would go with fresh resin. As was stated in previous post resin does have a shelf life.
