Cant fish the ocean off NJ till the NE wind drops

With high pressure system to the north, and very slow moving coastal storm offshore, the NE wind continues to blow.....

Looks like it may continue N, NE for another 5 days or more.

Del Bay has some good fishing now so for you trailer guys ( like me ) it's an option.
Time it with outgoing wind otherwise it's almost as rough as the ocean.

don't know if you can take advantage of it, but usually down here, after a hurricane, fishing is fantastic for a couple of weeks. we have just never had a blow, then a few days later had snow.

I got out on the Big Jamaica last Sunday. Fishing was very slow. Maybe a dozen or so blues and 3 keeper bass on the whole boat. I had a short bass and a spiny dogfish. They ran right down to the Seaside Lumps. Fished most of the day out deep in 70ft. Worked in to 50ft range then ended in close to the beach (where I got the short bass). We did get a closeup tour of the beach damage on the ride back. I will post pix in another thread

Just an fyi, there was a lot of floating wood and a very large submerged piling in Manaquan River. Be careful if you are going to venture out for bass.

we have a treatment plant 3 towns over that's been putting 60 million gallons of sewage into the bay every day. 60 MILLION GALLONS EVERY DAY! our season is over.

Is that because of the storm damage to the treatment plant or lack of power ?

Is it in the news because ............ holy SH......... that's bad !

charlie_the_tuna 11-18-2012 10:58 PM
