PETA wants memorial where fish died ....

A California woman is asking the city of Irvine, Calif., to erect a memorial at the street corner where 1,600 pounds of live fish died this month when a container truck was involved in a crash, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Dina Kourda, a volunteer with PETA, wrote to the Irvine Public Works Department to request that a sign be placed at the intersection to honor the saltwater bass lost in the accident.

According to the report, Ashley Byrne, a spokeswoman for PETA, said the organization had called for memorials for cows and pigs before, but this was the first time the group has called for a fish remembrance.

Well guys...I gotta agree with this lady. It is a CRYING shame that these fish died and nobody got to eat them. SAD SAD SAD.

Memorial should read:

"R.I.P. Mr. Delicious Saltwater Bass....may you grow large, reproduce abundantly, and reach someone's plate in another life."

poor fish, what a horrific way to die: flopping around on the hot pavement running out of oxygen

PETA should have been on the scene and held each fish upside down and rubbed their belly's so they would pass peacefully in their sleep. If they really cared, they would have been there for each and everyone of those poor helpless fish.

I love the way the author said 1,600 lbs of live fish died.....glad he clarified that because we wouldn't have know whether all those fish that died were previously alive. :butt:

Yeah.......

Land of fruits and nuts. When animals are more important then people.

Actually had a customer tell me that we should enact population control because there was too many people in California killing the plants. I told her that it was for food....she said exactly, less people= more land can go back to natural.

Weirdos....

Mac, we should touch base sometime. We are doing similar rebuilds. Pm me if you're interested. I am interested in learning.
