See, I try to make improvements only to find repairs, ugh......

Second time this has done this....

Put the truck into reverse to back out of the drive this morning and its all herky jerky, no rise in RPM's, just like its slippin. Shifted into neutral, no issues, put it back in gear and it did it again. About four jerks per one complete tire rotation. Not any super hard jerkin but enough to get my shoulders off the seat. I put it in park and got out and looked for noise, clanks....nothin. Put it back in gear and she took off just fine.

The first time it did it was when I was trailering the boat. Pulled into the neighbors driveway and shifted into reverse and had the same thing happen but it only jerked twice.

Any ideas? From what I can read maybe torque converter or something to do with the spline connection at the driveshaft/tranny?

Does it do it all the time or random? Tread with caution if you take it to a tranny shop. Most transmission shops around here are money hungry crooks!

And are you 100% sure its in the transmission? Not the rear end? I had a noise under my 1996 2500 Sierra and took it to several shops. All of them wanted to do a tranny rebuild. Took it to Hurst from a recommendation at my tire shop. They drove the truck, got back to the shop and he got under and immediately put his hand on my driveshaft carrier bearing. It was TOO hot to touch. Two days later it went out. Locked up on the driveshaft and locked both rear wheels and then the entire bearing carrier got ripped off the frame from the momentum.

Damn Jason!!!! No Im not 100% but it feels as though its in the front, kinda under my ***. Both times I tried to diagnose it when I got it level it quit.

Its only after shifting, coincidentally(?) into reverse(though this time it remained in forward until I put it into park), and has only did it twice but it persisted for a second this time. Foot on and off the brake with same results.......No lights....Also on an incline both times

Just a thought.... Does it do it worse while turning? Sounds as if it were in 4wd.

When was it last serviced? Could be a cracked filter as the trans needs more pressure for reverse than forward. Also 4L80E's are known for cracking teh reverse input drum and losing reverse entirely. Start with the simple stuff first and go from there.

No it was pretty consistant Smoke. I did some research and some guys were talkin like it may be the splines where the driveshaft and tranny meet up were in need of grease and are prone to slippin......

Thats what was happening in my GMC its the transfer case, there is some kind of clip or pin that let go, had mine fixed 4 times before GM would give me a new case, then thats when they offered to take it back and I bought my current truck

Man I was hoping that wasnt gonna come from anybody's mouth but was my first concern.......

Ferm, I just got the truck, I havent even put 1,000mi on her yet.....
