This is why

I am meticulous about inspecting my carbon arrows and replacing them if need be.

Holy $hit!!!!!! My string broke on me shooting in a 3D tournament over the summer and that scared the **** out of me!!!!! That looks like it really hurts, look at the individual pieces of carbon strips coming out. Ewwwww!!!

Are you healthy enough for some life insurance? I have a new cannon I need tested? Ouch!

Destroyer 10-09-2012 04:06 PM

That might be the reason I shoot aluminum arrows all the time.... OUCH!!!

Yep, that just cinched it for me.... I'm never shooting a bow again.

I've seen way too many things made out of carbon fail like that, saw a push pole explode on a guy one, seen a paddle break in half while mid stroke. If its carbon and its exposed to UV, its not going to last long. Carbon doesn't like shocks or sudden impacts either.

I shoot a Mathews Z7 with GoldTip carbon arrows and one of witch has been through 6 critters now :sly:with No issue other that the two I lost. I have had them for 6/7 years now they are on there second bow now I do have a gun rack that looks the same but full of bent aluminums. That poor S.O.B did something very wrong and knows it. I think he had an overdraw or used someone elses arrow witch was shorter than his draw lenght. The arrow must have came off the rest he pullued the trigger the arrow hits the riser and thats what you get v1carbon or aluminum shafts. I realy feel for that guy some one around here did pretty much the same thing but pinned his hand to his bow.
