Back from the Keys - short, funny video
3 Attachment(s)
So I had a few cocktails tonight and figured it would be a fine time to tell you about the wonderful things we have goin on at Golden Isles Outdoors. The GIO team just got back last week from Conch Key. There are a lot of options in the Conch Key/Marathon area and we did or best to take advantage of them the seven days we were there......despite the weather.
We didnt even make it out of our county before getting stopped by Georgia State Patrol for no tailights, the same ones that WERE working when we left and that I had spent 8hrs workin on. The trooper was kind enough to let us go and we enjoyed the blinking sound of the hazards for the remaining 6hrs of daylight. Still managed to arrive in one piece, despite a basketball goal in the middle of the turnpike, and get out on the water that afternoon. It was a long day but we had a precedent to set for the days to come. The only thing that failed us this trip aside from the weather and the trip down, was the lobster. It was probably the worst its ever been for us. Lots of shorts and many vacant ledges. We managed several over the seven days of our stay but not near the number we were expecting. We shifted gears and were able to get some spearing in but for only a few hours for a couple of days, again due to weather. The Blacks and Hogs were present and we made the best of it with no shortage of scenery as we pursued them across the reef. Fishing was spotty to say the least. The bite would get hot with the Grovers and Tails for a few minutes then abruptly stop and the Tuna had a bad case of lock jaw. We gave the Marathon Hump a good run of it regardless of the 5-7' waves in the rip lines and managed to go 3/7 on Dolphin we found hanging under a bamboo pole using vertical jigs. All in all we had a blast and I cant wait until the GIO team can get down there again for the forth year. On behalf of Henry (ssiredfish), Pate, Jess and David, enjoy the video......... http://youtu.be/1uG4T9AJw6M |

Thanks guys. That video was shot with four cameras: GoPro in 720, GoPro in 1080, a FlipCam, and Sony handheld.
The GoPro's are pretty versitile as Im sure you've seen and you can mount them just about anywhere. The video was edited by myself using Adobe Elements 10. Oh and I'll take sponsors for Vol2 if anyone wants to accompany a group of ragtag fellas back to the keys:haha: |

I would love to try my hand at free diving. I practiced holding my breath in the pool this past summer and got up to 2 min 30 seconds. Of course that was holding still though.....but I still think I can do even better.
