Heavy heart this morning.

Lost another good man yesterday to cancer. My Uncle Don passed after a 3 month stint with hospice. Noone can explain to me the needless suffering that this man had to endure. He fought the good fight.
A more witty man I have never met. He is an inspiration to all that knew him. Salesman, soldier, woodsmith, mentor, father, husband, friend. He was kind and caring, we will miss him.. A small bit of guilt goes along with his passing because he lived in Atlanta and we could not be there in the end. Until hospice we would communicate via e-mails on occasion, just too many miles apart and everyone is busy with their immediate family/work. No regrets, he knew what he meant to me and he knew we loved him so, I made sure of that. Don Risteen RIP..

Sorry for your loss my friend. A lot of good people are leaving us due to this disease. My 48 year old brother in law is fighting for his life right now.
I will say a prayer for Uncle Don, and for all who are suffering.

Sorry to hear of your loss!!
As you know I lost my mom just over 2 months ago for cancer, and your right its not easy.
I still talk to her, my brother never took her off the answering machine, I call it at times just to hear her voice.
Good luck to your family!!!

It seems we're all in the same boat so to speak. My 101 yr old aunt (mom's sister) died of Lukemia 3 days ago. She lived in Fla and her wake is today. Due to a number of reasons I cannot go. She was a wonderful lady and one of my favorites. I can appreciate your heavy heart. Mine feels the same. You have my prayers and sympathies. RIP

Sorry for your loss. Life is too short, sucks when it is shortened even further.

Ridge - So sorry for your loss . . . I know what you mean by "Noone can explain to me the needless suffering that this man had to endure. He fought the good fight."

I watched my grandfather suffer and hang on for 2 weeks gasping for his last breath each day while his lungs finally filled with fluid. We would be put in jail if we allowed animals to suffer similar to what we force people to go through at the end of their lives. May he rest in peace.

Thanks guys, I know I am not alone.

Big Shrimpin, you are right on with what I was thinking.

It made me feel better to get it off my chest.. put it out there for all to read.
Thanks for the kind sentiments and prayers.
