Just poured a gallon of oil into my bilge
I forgot to connect the hose to the filler neck when doing my resto. I noticed the sound of dripping from my transom drain, it was blue..
I immediately knew what had happened. At least it was cheap oil... |
When they disconnected my oil line to remove my engine for my transom job my ENTIRELY FULL oil tank filled with $45 a gallon evinrude XD 100 oil siphoned into my bilge.

Money literally "down the drain":nut:

Hehe, dont feel tooooo bad...........I just pumped 5 quarts into the boat......yep, got to remember to put that oil filter back on:head:

could have been worst..... i guess

Yeah, everyone has made a mistake or two here or there. It sucked because I just went to town to buy the oil, come home and waste it.
At least I didn't leave the fuel hose off and re-fueled! |

As I was cleaning up after working on my engine, I noticed that the oil tank on the top of my 1991 Mercury 200 hp engine was low on oil, so I filled it. Not realizing that the hose leading from the oil tank to the to the engine was cracked.. Put the cowl on, wrapped up for the evening...came back a few days later and noticed oil running down the mid-section of the engine. Took the cowl off and the entire lower pan of the cowling was covered with oil. Total mess. At least I didn't try running the engine...:head:
