Power trim wires

I have a 1988 black max 150hp and the wires coming out of the trim motor that connects to the engine have to be replaced did any one ever do that? Also I had to ad a lot of trim fluid to the reservoir an I can't think of where it went I don't see any leaks anywhere. Thanks

Late reply. I have experienced working with the trim on a Merc. Is it the two wire motor?

There should be 3 wires a green, blue and black.Blue is up and green down and black ground.Naturally the black goes to both selonoids and the green and blue go to the up and down selonoids

Just doing a little more thinking .You stated the wires had been replaced . Did they just splice new wire to the motor or replace the motor .I ask becuase the wires are attached internally .Either way if the motor had been removed the system could have had air in it and when it blead out the oil levil would drop and look like it leaked with no sign of where it went.
