Best snaking tool
 

Had good luck using a quality 25' tape measure.

Just ran the new transducer line up to the front without removing the gunnel panel.
Quick, easy.

I always thought the best tool was a fishtape? :zip:


Tip, when you pull a new line in, tie an extra piece of wire/string to in. Tie it off on each end and the next time you have a pull wire. Then pull an extra back in with it, so on and so on...you want have to snake it ever again. :beer:

I keep the inner wire out of an old control cable coiled up and at the ready. Works for most stuff. The 1/4" poly braided string works well using Stinks method.

Much easier than with my old Mako - all lines went down a hole in the CC, then to the back with no visibility at all. With the cuddy panel off, you can see well back with a good flashlight. Makes it real easy.

I'm going with jsgrorge4x4 on using a fibreglass or plastic snake. They're not that expensive, and you can buy them @ Harbor Freight now for a lot less than the Klien Tools one that I bought at my neighborhood electrical supply house. I have my trusty old metal snakes, but the plastic ones are a lot more forgiving and flexable when your going around bends and sweeps. And like Stinky_Hooker said, make sure you tie on an extra string when you are making a pull for future use. :head:
